My son and I can play multi-player games from separate screens, despite just one Xbox in the house. I can cast from my phone to the various TVs in my house. The browser interface is faster than my Xbox one UI. I also have the same results when playing Destiny 2, Doom, Gears 5 and even online multi-player in Master Chief Collection.Īt this point, it's become my favorite way to play. I'm now playing through Control and performance is impeccable. I also locked it to Google Public DNS and use the 5G band for game streaming devices. I got this router for $17 used from Amazon, and it's been a game changer. It turns out the XB3 Wireless Gateway I rent from Comcast was the culprit. (Seems like xcloud generally uses less than 6Mbps down) I have 100Mbps down and 5.76Mbps up which should have been more than enough for high performance. Shooters were largely out of the question, because the hiccups would cause errant movement and aiming, and it would get frustrating. So I've already been pretty positive on xcloud (officially called Xbox Cloud Streaming (Beta) with Xbox Game Pass), but I could never get reliable enough performance to use it outside of some niche situations.
